Snow last night and more snow this morning, of the slow, lazy kind.Lost in the many things happening early this year was the first anniversary of MLBN, which has proved to be a total boon for baseball lovers. It's simply amazing how good the network has become in almost no time at all. Till now the folks there have deftly avoided bludgeoning us, a la ESPN, with Yankees-Red Sox, Yankees-Red Sox, Yankees-Red Sox. Let's hope that the addition of Peter Gammons does not change that.
I was out when the HOF announcement was made and only caught it on the fly. I kept waiting for Roberto Alomar's name to appear, would have thought he was a shoo-in. It only goes to show that baseball writers too veer down the same path as fans, turning selections into popularity contests.
