One day after the Mets signed ex-Phillie catcher Chris Coste, the Phillies signed former Met catcher Brian Schneider. A native of the Lehigh Valley, the defensive-minded Schneider signed a two-year deal worth $2.75 million to back up Carlos Ruiz. I do hope that Carlos will be getting a significant bump in his salary.
