down to one

The view last week across the road from my favorite farmstand out in Berks County.

J.A. Happ went 5.2 so-so innings, giving up four runs (three earned), Pedro Feliz hit a grand slam deep to left in the 4th, and Ryan Madson stepped up for a two-inning save in last night's 7-4 win over the Astros. The Phillies' magic number is now one and order is again restored. That grand slam by Feliz, by the bye, was the 11th of the season for the Phillies, a franchise record. Jamie Moyer injured his groin pitching in relief of Happ.

Pedro Martinez gets the start tonight. Cliff Lee, scheduled for tonight, will start tomorrow. That will put him on pace to start the first game of the play-offs. One more win and that will be a lock. I'll be happy to see the bench guys playing tomorrow night.
